The Sterling Raiders will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Northside Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sterling has four straight wins, Northside has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Waltrip scored an imposing 31 points on Thursday, Sterling still came out on top. Sterling took their game against Waltrip 39-31.
It was another big night for Jacques Brown, who threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Northside fell victim to Madison's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Marlins at home and fell 55-0.
Sterling's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Waltrip, Austin, and Sharpstown. Northside has not been sharp this season, as they've lost six of their first seven games, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Sterling against Northside when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 82-0 win. Will Sterling repeat their success, or does Northside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
