After soaring to 34 points the game before, The Perry Central Bulldogs were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of St. Stanislaus. While losing is never fun, Perry Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while St. Stanislaus is ranked 42nd).
Kaden Bolton and Ausin Jones, Perry Central certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bolton picked up 144 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Jones only threw for 179 passing yards and failed to score a touchdown.
Ian Gael gonz?lez rioz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Stanislaus, throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Chesley Rhodes made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
This is the second loss in a row for Perry Central and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for St. Stanislaus, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Perry Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Tylertown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tylertown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for St. Stanislaus, they will head out on the road to face off against West Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Marion is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
