Baseball Game Preview: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Arbor View Aggies

Desert Oasis is 9-1 against Arbor View since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks will head out to challenge the Aggies at 3:30 p.m. Desert Oasis will be strutting in after a victory while Arbor View will be coming in after a defeat.

If Desert Oasis beats Arbor View with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Diamondbacks came out on top against Coronado by a score of 11-7 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Diamondbacks.

The team relied heavily on Aidan Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Berumen, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Arbor View faced Basic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Aggies came up short against the Wolves, falling 7-1. The loss continues a trend for the Aggies in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost six in a row.

Desert Oasis' win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Arbor View, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Desert Oasis came out on top in a nail-biter against Arbor View when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Diamondbacks repeat their success, or do the Aggies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
