The Norland Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Clearwater. The win was just what Norland needed coming off of a 71-39 defeat in their prior matchup.
Jasmine Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Shania Swan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight assists and four steals.
Clearwater's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Allevia Williams, who scored 14 points, and Pink Sturdivant who scored 12 points.
Norland's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Clearwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norland will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. The timing is sure in Sports Leadership & Management's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Norland has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Clearwater, they will face off against East Lake at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Avery Chatman and Williams.
