The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Pace on Friday as Edcouch-Elsa made off with a 42-18 win. The score was close at the half, but Edcouch-Elsa pulled away in the second half with 30 points.
Andie Lozano-lomeli and Andrea Salgado certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Lozano-lomeli scored two points along with seven blocks, while Salgado scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Edcouch-Elsa's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Pace, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season.
Edcouch-Elsa will be playing in front of their home fans against Donna North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Donna North is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Pace, they will head out on the road to take on Harlingen South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlingen South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pace in Texas (Harlingen South is ranked 565th, while Pace is ranked 1339th).
