The Caston Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Carroll Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Caston never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against North White last Friday. They snuck past the Vikings with a 34-28 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Caston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landen Rigney, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Grant Yadon was in the mix too, providing Caston with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Carroll put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Tri-County for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-8 victory on the road. Fans of Carroll have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Caston's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Carroll, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0.
Caston was dealt a bruising 52-0 defeat at the hands of Carroll in their previous matchup back in October of 2014. Can Caston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
