Fayetteville is 8-2 against Har-Ber since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fayetteville Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Har-Ber Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fayetteville has nine straight victories, Har-Ber has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Fayetteville stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over Rogers Heritage. Given Fayetteville's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked second, while Rogers Heritage is ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fayetteville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Setzer led the charge by rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Drake Lindsey, who threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Meanwhile, Har-Ber was beaten by Rogers 63-21 on Friday. Har-Ber was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Braden Sprague, who threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Smith, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Fayetteville's victory was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Har-Ber and 1-8 Rogers Heritage (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.4% over those games). As for Har-Ber, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Fayetteville against Har-Ber in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 44-15 victory. Does Fayetteville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Har-Ber turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
