There's no place like home for the Walthill Blujays, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They took down Winside 55-38 on Tuesday. Given Walthill's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Winside is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Walthill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Parker out in front who scored 12 points. Keesan Kaaihue was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Walthill's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Winside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Walthill will head out on the road to face off against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winside will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stanton on February 6th.
