Weber's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Halee Zabriskie led the charge by getting 11 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Zabriskie has posted over her last eight contests.
Weber was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 12 consecutive matches.
Davis not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Layton.
Davis didn't let Layton take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.
Davis' win came from a few key players Weber will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kate Donigan, who had 16 assists and five digs. Zoey Walsh also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Weber's record is now 16-9. As for Davis, their record now sits at 7-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Weber has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Davis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Weber took their win against Davis in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
