The Coopersville Broncos had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They slipped by East Grand Rapids 14-13.
When it comes to explaining why East Grand Rapids lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Cannon. Despite the final result, he rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Coopersville's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. As for East Grand Rapids, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Coopersville will head out on the road to face off against Zeeland West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Zeeland West is ranked 26th, while Coopersville is ranked 33rd). East Grand Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
