Poquoson is still winless after their game against Lafayette on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lafayette Rams. One positive for the Islanders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Lafayette's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zyhir Burton, who posted ten points and four blocks. Wayne Santos was another key player, putting up 12 points and five assists.

Poquoson's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Poquoson has already played their next matchup, a 57-38 defeat against Grafton on the 13th. As for Lafayette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-59 victory against Tabb on the 15th.
