Hoosier Crossroads recap October 29, 2013
Fishers extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Crossroads this week by beating Noblesville, 17-13. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Tigers.
Fishers and the Millers played the most contested game in the league this week, with Fishers eventually emerging with a 17-13 victory. Maurice Campbell ran for 256 yards and caught 1 pass for 15 yards in the win.
Campbell was a force in the backfield as Rick Wimmer's team beat Noblesville.
Campbell provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers defeated Lance Scheib's team. Campbell's favorite target this week was J-Shun Harris, who caught 5 passes for 57 yards.
Cress Kimbrough was the best wideout in the league this week as Avon lost to Ben Davis. Cress Kimbrough tallied 3 receptions for 77 yards. Andrew Griffin helped Avon's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.
Fishers' Connor Christiansen and Harris have formed a dream team this season, leading Hoosier Crossroads in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Christiansen has thrown for 1,865 yards this season, while Harris has 50 catches for 838 yards. Brownsburg's Toks Akinribade leads the league in rushing yards with 1,014.
The Tigers' Christiansen is within 135 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Carmel.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Harrison takes on Westfield. The Raiders are in 10th place, while the Shamrocks are in second place.
The Bulldogs fell to Pike 57-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
