Cross County recap September 4, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Austin Hutchins and Blake Lawson connected against Brookville. The connection was good for 73 yards, the longest such play in Cross County this season.
Ansonia's Dane Wentworth recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Belmont last week. Wentworth ran for 63 yards on the play and finished with 70 on the day as his team defeated the Bison.
Nick Peters and Jordan Newman gave Ansonia a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Peters threw for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Newman ran for 197 yards. Cody Burnfield also contributed to the rushing game with 78 yards on the ground.

Woodyard was the best wideout in Cross County this week as the Panthers defeated Brookville.

The league will see a high scoring game when Ansonia and the Panthers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Tigers comes in having scored 58 this season, while Tri-County North has scored 38. Ansonia scored 58 points last week as it defeated Jackie Fails' team.
Bethel was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bees triumphed over Northridge 13-12.
