BOERNE, Texas -
Boerne-Champion (Boerne, Texas) got back to .500 with its 27-14 victory over
Clemens (Schertz, Texas) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the first quarter, the Chargers led 20-0 at the half.
Boerne-Champion saw its 20-point halftime lead fall to 13 entering the fourth.
BC's most effective player was
Chandler Ruble. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored two touchdowns on the season.
The Boerne school entered the contest giving up 29.7 points per game this year.
The victory will ease some of the sting of the Chargers' close 21-20 loss to the Buffaloes last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for Boerne-Champion, which lost to Lockhart last week, 34-32.
Boerne-Champion (4-4) goes up against Hays in a 4A Region IV District 27 game matchup next week, while Clemens (0-8) locks horns with Alamo Heights also in a 4A Region IV District 27 game.
