Gorham is a perfect 7-0 against Deering since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Gorham will venture away from home to face off against Deering at 3:00 p.m. Gorham will be strutting in after a win while Deering will be coming in after a loss.

Gorham is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against South Portland on Wednesday. The Rams walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Red Riots.

Bella McBrady was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. McBrady was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Winnie Dubail, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sawyer VonderHaar, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Deering unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Noble on Wednesday, falling 18-8.

Hadleigh McPartlan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Kamryn Moss was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Gorham's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Deering, they dropped their record down to 0-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Gorham took their victory against Deering in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will Gorham repeat their success, or does Deering has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
