Sebring has gone a perfect 10-0 against Avon Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Blue Streaks will take on the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Sebring barely beat Auburndale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Streaks never let the Bloodhounds get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Friday.
Tera Lynn Price made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cailyn McWaters, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Hackett, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Sebring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Avon Park made easy work of Davenport on Thursday and carried off a 9-3 victory. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Like Sebring, Avon Park also got a great game from a two-way player: Paisley Macias. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Macias was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Janely Ayala was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kinley DeLoach was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Sebring's record is now 12-6. As for Avon Park, their record now sits at 11-8.
Sebring skirted past Avon Park 10-9 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Streaks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
