Goose Creek's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taveion Scott, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Reggie Dozier, who scored 12 points.
Cane Bay has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Goose Creek, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
Cane Bay will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Berkeley at 8:30 p.m. Cane Bay is on a five-game streak of home wins, Berkeley a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Goose Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Wando at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Wando is ranked 44th, while Goose Creek is ranked 60th).
