The Bennington Badgers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 76-7 win over Mount Michael Benedictine at home. The result was nothing new for Bennington, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Bennington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Dumont led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Peyton Sanmann, who threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
Bennington's win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.1 points per game. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Bennington will be playing in front of their home fans against Crete at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crete will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Bennington is ranked eighth). Mount Michael Benedictine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
