Gateway is 0-6 against Skyview since April of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Olympians will take on the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gateway will bounce into Monday's match after beating Adams City, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Olympians blew past the Eagles 14-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Olympians have posted against the Eagles since April 6, 2023.

Jakob Petersen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jose Soto also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Gateway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skyview). They never let Overland get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Caden Jensen looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joseph Trujillo, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Skyview's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Juan Esquivel was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Gateway pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Skyview, their record now sits at 6-9.
Skyview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gateway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. It's a different story for Skyview, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Gateway's hitters?
Gateway suffered a grim 14-6 defeat to Skyview when the teams last played on April 8th. Can the Olympians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
