Queen Creek is a perfect 5-0 against Boulder Creek since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Queen Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Williams Field, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Queen Creek was ranked tenth). The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Black Hawks on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
The team relied heavily on Jet Berry, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Tait Reynolds, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Boulder Creek waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 15-0 shutout. With that win, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Cam Richardson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Boulder Creek: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-11 otherwise.
At the plate, Boulder Creek let Jake Parks and Chase Gilmore run wild. Parks went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Gilmore scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Parks a new career-high. Matt Nicolosi was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
Boulder Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Queen Creek pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boulder Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Everything went Queen Creek's way against Boulder Creek in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Queen Creek made off with a 17-1 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
