The Vilonia Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Hamilton Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Vilonia sitting on three straight victories and Lake Hamilton on five.
Vilonia can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Beebe with a sharp 51-28 win. Given Vilonia's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Beebe is ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Lake Hamilton proved too difficult a challenge. They pulled ahead with a 56-55 photo finish over the Rams. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Vilonia's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Lake Hamilton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Vilonia against Lake Hamilton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 57-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vilonia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
