Even though the Forest Hills Northern Huskies scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, the Caledonia Fighting Scots still came out on top. Caledonia managed a 64-60 victory over the Huskies. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Caledonia also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Caledonia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaiden Googins, who scored 23 points. Googins hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Laul Abiel, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Caledonia now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Forest Hills Northern, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caledonia is on the road again on Friday and plays the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Rockford's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups. As for Forest Hills Northern, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Northview will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
