Monroe Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sydney Patterson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Patterson has scored at least 25% of Monroe Central's points. Addy Puckett was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Union City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Monroe Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Union City will be playing at home against Anderson Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Anderson Prep Academy is ranked 288th, while Union City is ranked 267th). Monroe Central is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Union at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Union focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
