Basketball Recap: Mitch Paspal Key Part of a Team Effort in Rocks Win

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Salem Rocks beat the New Haven Rockets 60-56.

Salem's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mitch Paspal led the charge by going 5 of 7 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Stone, who posted 11 points.

Salem was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Salem is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for New Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Salem will be playing in front of their home fans against South Lyon East at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. South Lyon East will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Salem surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Haven, they will venture away from home to take on Eastpointe at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
