Inter-Valley recap September 10, 2013
Tuscarawas Central Catholic moved up to 489 from 540 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Inter-Valley. The Saints were able to make move up by falling to Madonna 33-6.
Newcomerstown was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Trojans triumphed over Shenandoah 41-19.
Jibril Dansby was a beast in the backfield as Newcomerstown topped the Zeps.
Cody Hall was the best wideout in the league this week as Eric Brock's team beat Shenandoah. Hall racked up 2 receptions for 48 yards.
Lucas Dieffenbaugher put up the best numbers in passing as Sandy Valley lost to Mapleton. He finished with 11 completions for 91 yards. Dieffenbaugher's favorite target this week was Joe Newman, who caught 4 passes for 34 yards.
Dansby was the most successful running back in Inter-Valley this week. He ran for 236 yards on 23 carries as the Trojans defeated the Zeps. Hall also contributed to the rushing game with 64 yards on the ground.
Dansby provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Newcomerstown defeated Shenandoah.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Cardinals' Dieffenbaugher and Nate Shepler have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Dieffenbaugher has thrown for 197 yards this season, while Shepler has 6 catches for 114 yards. The Trojans' Dansby leads the league in rushing yards with 341.
Strasburg-Franklin fell to Beallsville 36-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
