North Wilkes has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Forbush Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Forbush took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Wilkes, who comes in off a win.
Even though North Wilkes has not done well against Wilkes Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. North Wilkes strolled past Wilkes Central with points to spare, taking the game 56-41.
Meanwhile, Forbush's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-37 loss at the hands of East Surry. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Forbush has suffered since December 5, 2023.
North Wilkes now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Forbush, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for North Wilkes against Forbush in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 73-46 win. Will North Wilkes repeat their success, or does Forbush have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
