Softball Recap: Snook Comes Up Short

If Snook was feeling good fresh off their 13-2 takedown of Eastside Early College last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Snook Bluejays lost 10-1 to the Mumford Mustangs on Friday. The Bluejays were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Aubrey Becker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered ten runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Snook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braynija Pool, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Pool has posted since back in April of 2024.

Snook's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Mumford, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Coincidentally, Snook and Mumford will both be playing Somerville the next time they take the field. Mumford will host Somerville at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, while Snook will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
