El Paso is 0-10 against Canutillo since March of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as El Paso comes in on three and Canutillo on six.
Last Tuesday, El Paso was able to grind out a solid win over Burges, taking the game 5-2.

Denaly Villagrana spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sophie Gomez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Selene Acosta was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Canutillo got the win against Jefferson on Tuesday by a conclusive 21-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
Alina Banda made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Banda was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Abigail Lujan was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Khloe Borjas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Canutillo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive games.
Canutillo's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for El Paso, their record now sits at 11-19.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Paso hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Canutillo struggles in that department as they've averaged .413. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
El Paso suffered a grim 19-9 defeat to Canutillo in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
