Yellville-Summit unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Izard County Cougars by a score of 40-38 on Friday. Brashear also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass. Hayden Strong also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.
Yellville-Summit and Izard County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Hector at 7:00 p.m. on September 12. As for Izard County, their break will end when they face Quitman at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
