After a string of three wins, the Odyssey Institute Minotaur's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 32-11 walloping at the hands of Yuma Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Odyssey Institute has suffered since December 28, 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Odyssey Institute lost, one person who can't be blamed is Danica Slack. Despite the final result, she scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals. Slack hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Yuma Catholic was led to victory by Amanda Wiley and Sadie Estes. Wiley scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals, while Estes scored 14 points along with six steals. Wiley is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Odyssey Institute's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Yuma Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
