SIUE East St. Louis Charter can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 62-55 victory over Maryville Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Levi Gray, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Gray scored a full 25.5% of Maryville Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Logan Schwenk, who scored 16 points.
SIUE East St. Louis Charter's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Maryville Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Southwestern the next time they take the court. Maryville Christian will head out to face Southwestern at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while SIUE East St. Louis Charter will head out to face them at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
