CORONADO, Calif. -
University City (San Diego, Calif.)'s 43-0 victory over Coronado (Calif.) on Saturday brought the team's record back up to .500.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Kyle LeBlanc in the first quarter, the Centurions led 29-0 at the half.
University City expanded its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. UC scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Jesston Williams.
LeBlanc stood out for the San Diego school in the win. The junior wide receiver ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
Coming into the game the Centurions had allowed 29.0 points per game this year. University City held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Islanders well below the 8.7 points it had been averaging per game.
UC got revenge for last year's 35-21 loss to Coronado with the victory.
Coronado (1-7) will play a Central game against Crawford next week, while University City (4-4) will take on Christian also in a Central game.
