The Alvarado Indians lost against the La Vega Pirates back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Alvarado's tough 49-28 defeat to La Vega might stick with them for a while. Alvarado has struggled against La Vega recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Alvarado still got an impressive performance from Cardea Collier, who rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 249 yards and a touchdown. Collier's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Cade Lee also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Alvarado's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for La Vega, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Stephenville the next time they take the field. Alvarado will host Stephenville at 0:00 a.m. on Friday, while La Vega will head out to face them at 0:00 a.m. on November 3rd.
