After a string of three wins, the Brandon Academy Scorpions's good fortune finally ran out  on Tuesday. They took a hard  54-39 fall against Tampa Prep. Brandon Academy has not had much luck with Tampa Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
 Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Shavon Birch, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and 17  rebounds. Birch has been hot recently, having posted eight or more  rebounds the last seven times he's  played.  Tyshaun Tims was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points along with two  steals.
 Tampa Prep found their leader in underclassman  Christian Fuller, who  scored 21 points along with five  assists and five  rebounds. Fuller continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  J'London Bivens, who  scored ten points along with six  assists and six  rebounds.
 Brandon Academy's loss  ended a three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 6-11. As for Tampa Prep, their victory was  their 23rd straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 16-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon Academy will take on Central Baptist Christian at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Tampa Prep, they will play host again and welcome Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.5  points per game.
