The Durango Trailblazers are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Stansbury Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Durango has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 328 points over their last five matches.
Durango has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 29 points or more this season. They blew past Juneau-Douglas 71-40 on the road. The win was all the more spectacular given Durango's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 66th in Nevada, while Juneau-Douglas is ranked 18th in Alaska).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Stansbury, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They were outmatched by Hillcrest on the road and fell 73-45. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stansbury in their matchups with Hillcrest: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jackson Hymer, who scored eight points. Tobi Johnson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Stansbury were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Durango's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Stansbury, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
