It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bridgeport Bulldogs can now relate to. They were dealt a 72-34 defeat at the hands of Crofton on Friday. Bridgeport's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Bridgeport's loss came despite strong showings from Nikolas Weibert and Gage Nein. Weibert rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns, while Nein picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wyatt Tramp had an outrageously good game for Crofton as he rushed for 216 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Will Steffen was another major influence, as he rushed for 84 yards and ran in a TD.
Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Crofton, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crofton will take on Elkhorn Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elkhorn Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
