Cromwell was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Pequot - North. Earlier in the week, the Panthers defeated Ellington/Somers 21-8.
Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,071 from 12,122. The advance stemmed from a 42-16 victory over Haddam-Killingworth last week.
Mavric Pelletier put up the best numbers in passing as Cromwell topped the Knights. He had a total of 16 completions for 169 yards. Pelletier's favorite target this week was Antwaum Burney, who caught 7 passes for 60 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Chris Eckert's team's Pelletier and Jarius Bailey have proven to be a lethal combination. Pelletier has thrown for 577 yards this season, while Bailey, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 18 catches for 221 yards. Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby's Jarvis Miller leads the league in rushing yards with 503.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ellington/Somers takes on Enfield. At the moment, Sean Byrne's team is in fifth, while the Raiders are in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Knights take on Enfield. Ellington/Somers has allowed 49 points this season, while Jay Gaucher's team has given up 45. The Knights allowed 21 points last week as they fell to the Panthers.
The Raiders led Pequot - North in scoring this week after putting up 70 points on Stafford/East Windsor.
