The Desert View Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 18th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 66-35 loss at the hands of Nogales. Desert View has not had much luck with Nogales recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gilbert Herran, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Luis Felix, who scored a point along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Desert View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nogales only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Diego Ortega, who scored 22 points along with three steals for Nogales. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert View will challenge Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Nogales focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for they, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Salpointe Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Nogales in Arizona (Salpointe Catholic is ranked 46th, while Nogales is ranked 142nd).
