The Teurlings Catholic Rebels will head out to challenge the Berwick Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Teurlings Catholic's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They didn't even let Port Barre on the board, marking the Rebels' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.
Not much got past Reagan Brasseaux, who gave up just a hit to keep Port Barre off the board. Brasseaux has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Teurlings Catholic got a massive performance out of Mia Smith, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailee Hebert, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact: Teurlings Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Berwick duked it out with Erath on Monday. The Panthers blew past the Bobcats 23-3. Considering the Panthers have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison Diboll made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Diboll was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Azyria Garrison was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Makinzie Macaluso was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Berwick's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Teurlings Catholic, their record now sits at 12-13-1.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Teurlings Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Berwick struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Teurlings Catholic's way against Berwick when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Teurlings Catholic made off with a 19-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
