The Camas Papermakers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Ridgefield Spudders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Camas is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against WF West. Camas never let WF West get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The Papermakers haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jayda Peterson made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Camas got a massive performance out of Hayden Wiest, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Sophia Chambers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Olympic.
Like Camas, Ridgefield also got a great game from a two-way player: Gracie Olmos. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Olmos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Tava Whitlow was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Charlie Harris, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Ridgefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympic only posted an OBP of .250.
Camas skirted past Ridgefield 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Does Camas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ridgefield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
