The Tri-Valley Scotties will head out on the road to take on the Maysville Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tri-Valley comes in on six and Maysville on ten.
Tri-Valley can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past River View 70-26 at home. Tri-Valley pushed the score to 58-19 by the end of the third, a deficit River View had no chance of recovering from.
Sheridan typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Maysville proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Generals with points to spare, taking the game 66-52. Given Maysville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Sheridan is ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maysville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordyn Watson out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Watson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Bobb, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Tri-Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Maysville, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Tri-Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Maysville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 53-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tri-Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
