The Barr-Reeve Vikings struggled with assists on Saturday (the Paoli Rams had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Barr-Reeve fell to Paoli 37-32. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barr-Reeve in their matchups with Paoli: they've now lost three in a row.
Barr-Reeve's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liv Emmons, who scored 12 points. Emmons scored a full 37.5% of Barr-Reeve's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Willow Thompson, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Paoli's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carley Higgins led the charge by scoring ten points. The match was Higgins' 11th in a row with at least ten points. Lilly Hall was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Barr-Reeve's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Paoli, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.
Barr-Reeve will play host again and welcome Vincennes Lincoln, where tip off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Paoli will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Washington at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th.
