Holy Cross won the last time they faced Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic and Brady Lombardo did his part to make sure it happened again. The Crusaders enjoyed a cozy 36-20 victory over the Yellowjackets on Saturday with plenty of help from Lombardo, who threw for 371 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt. Holy Cross is undefeated when Lombardo posts 250 or more passing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.
Devonne Drake was Lombardo's top target, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Drake got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 77 yards.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Linnen, who rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.
