Two dominant guards in Jade Kitchens and Brayla Harris are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Washington County Golden Hawks will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Butler Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Washington County has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Butler will arrive with three straight victories.
On Tuesday, Washington County lost to Josey at home by a decisive 57-39 margin. Washington County has not had much luck with Josey recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kitchens, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Makayla Dunn, who scored 14 points.
Putnam County typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Butler proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the War Eagles by a score of 52-44.
Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Butler, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
Washington County couldn't quite finish off Butler in their previous matchup on January 2nd and fell 52-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Harris, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
