The Eastern Tech Mavericks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 39-28 to Carver A&T. Eastern Tech was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carver A&T apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Carver A&T found their leader in underclassman Elisah Guity, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Guity has scored at least 25% of Carver A&T's points. Another player making a difference was Laila Brandon, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Eastern Tech now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Carver A&T, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Eastern Tech and St. Paul's Girls will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th at. Carver A&T will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Town at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
