On Friday, the North Kingstown Skippers faced the Barrington Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. North Kingstown received a tough blow as they fell 69-53 to Barrington. North Kingstown has not had much luck with Barrington recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Barrington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Scandura, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Anderson, who scored 19 points.
North Kingstown's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Barrington, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Kingstown will challenge Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully North Kingstown likes a good challenge. As for Barrington, they will head out on the road to challenge Classical at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Classical is on a three-game streak of home wins, Barrington a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
