After a string of four wins, the Roosevelt Roughriders's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 63-38 loss at the hands of Mount Si. While losing is never fun, Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Mount Si is ranked sixth).
Roosevelt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anthony Washington, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Huntington, who scored eight points.
Leading Mount Si to victory were Trevor Hennig and Latt Ford. Hennig scored 20 points along with five rebounds, while Ford scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Ford is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Blake Forrest was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 assists and five rebounds.
Roosevelt's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Mount Si, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.
Roosevelt will take on Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Mount Si won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against North Creek at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. North Creek is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64 points per game.
