If the Jumpertown Cardinals were riding high off their 54-33 takedown of the Arnold Marlins last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jumpertown fell 47-40 to Wheeler on Tuesday. Jumpertown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wheeler apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wheeler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rebekah Mason, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and seven assists. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Emma Kate Beckham, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Jumpertown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Wheeler, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jumpertown will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Blue Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Wheeler and Baldwyn will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Baldwyn is ranked 152nd, while Wheeler is ranked 158th).
