Fivay hasn't had much luck against Mitchell recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Fivay will head out on the road to square off against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Fivay barely beat Anclote the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Fivay's pitcher stepped up to hand Anclote an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Falcons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Danna Sleeman made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Sleeman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Fivay got a massive performance out of Janie Badu, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Badu a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Wojcik, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Fivay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mitchell entered their tilt with River Ridge on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Royal Knights with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Fivay, Mitchell also got a great game from a two-way player: Savannah Toukatly. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Toukatly has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Addison Freitas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Audrey Midyett was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Mitchell's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Fivay, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-7 record.
Fivay suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Mitchell in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Fivay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
