The biggest upset of the week belonged to Woodville, who took down 518th ranked Kountze, 18-16.
The Eagles moved up to 673 from 763 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region III District 10. Woodville climbed the ranks as a result of a 18-16 win over the Lions.
D.J. DEAN put up the best numbers through the air as Newton beat Kirbyville. He had a total of two completions for 42 yards. DEAN's favorite target this week was KEYAUN SEASTRUNK, who caught one pass for 22 yards.
Justin Artis was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 240 yards on 18 carries as Anahuac defeated Hardin. Josh Cooper also contributed to the rushing game with 55 yards on the ground.
Raymond was the best wideout in the league this week as the Panthers topped the Hornets. Raymond tallied three receptions for 24 yards.
The Eagles' DEAN and KEVIN SHORTER have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A-1 Region III District 10 in both passing and receiving yards. DEAN has thrown for 277 yards this season, while SHORTER, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has four catches for 111 yards. Anahuac's Artis leads the league in rushing yards with 891.
